Lidocaine viscous, a local anesthetic, is used to treat the pain of a sore or irritated mouth and throat often associated with cancer chemotherapy and certain medical procedures. About This Data

Prescribing data from Medicare’s prescription drug benefit, known as Part D, was compiled and released by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the federal agency that oversees the program. ProPublica combined that data with additional information released by CMS. The data for 2013 includes nearly 1.4 billion prescriptions written by 1.3 million doctors, nurses and other providers. This database lists about 410,000 of those providers who wrote 50 or more prescriptions for at least one drug that year.
