In October 2010, ProPublica identified 384 healthcare providers who earned more than $100,000 total from one or more of the eight companies that have disclosed payments in 2009 and early 2010. We matched the payee records with licensed doctors and registered nurses in the states listed. When a match could not be found, for example when a recipient was a pharmacist, we used other sources to confirm their identities.
The payments are listed as we compiled them in October 2010 and so the displayed total may not be up-to-date. Do a search to find the recipient's latest payments.
- Some providers earning more than $100,000 may not be included in this list because of variations in how drug companies spelled their names. Also, more than 70 drug companies have yet to publicly report their payments.
- Payments that were designated for groups of doctors, rather than individual doctors, were excluded from our calculation.
- ProPublica checked whether physicians had specialty board certification using the web sites of the American Board of Medical Specialties, the American Medical Association and the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. A designation of "not listed" means that we could not find any record of certification.
- We obtained information on government actions, which include sanctions and warnings, from the websites of state medical boards and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Some states remove older discipline from their web sites.
The following is the list of records we used to add up the total payments for Stuart Stoloff
