Colorado College frequently gives academic credit for unpaid internships. The Career Center also provides (fairly generous) funding to internships starting mid-March, but the funds tend to run out quickly. As of the last two years, the College had made a renewed financial commitment to fund or find internships. On the whole though, it does fail to adequately protect students against illegal unpaid internships.
