Health Center Integrated Services Development Initiative[g1] ARRA funds were awarded to the Cass County Health Clinic to renovate medical and dental clinical areas. The proposal also included repair and renovation to the parking area. These funds are eing used to renovate existing space intoo three additional medical exam rooms and 2 dental operatories. The reception area will also be renovated to allow for more seating for patients in the medical clinic. The repair to the parking area is needed due to large sink holes in the parking area caused by a deteriorating drainage pipe that runs under the parking area. The proposal is for a concrete drainage pipe to replace the current metal pipe. This will result in a much longer sustainability of the drainage pipe. Once, all the repair is completed, the parking area will be expanded and striped to allow for a safer parking area. The renovated parking area will also allow for an increased number of parking spaces for patients and staff.... The dental service area square footage will increase from 855 sq. feet to 1158 sq. feet. The dental providers will have office space that is not accessible by patients, but is within the dental clinical area. Patient flow in not an issue in our dental clinic. Our dental clinic will be able to perform more efficiently and will be able to serve patients in a more timely manner with a decreased wait time for appointment availability. The medical clinic proposal will increase our medical exam rooms from three to six. The reception are awill be spacious enough for all of our medical records as well as two receptionists. Our patient waiting area will increase from 12 seats to 25 seats. The square footage of our medical clinic will increase from 1121 sq. feet to 1933 sq. feet. The providers will have an office within the clinical area. The provider's office will not be accessible by patients, but will be in proximity of the clinical area. The utilization of funds also include the repair and expansion of our parking area. The expanded parking area will increase the parking spaces available from 40 to 65. Repair to a drainage pipe will be done and then the entire parking area will be paved and striped. Currently, our parking area has a couple of large sink holes and is mostly gravel.... Child Nutrition Discretionary Grants Limited Availability The Illinois State Board of Education received funds through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) to assist in the purchase of equipment for School Food Authorities (SFAs) participating in the National School Lunch Programm (NSLP) through a competitive grant process. Priority was given to SFAs for equipment for schools in which at least 50 percent of the students were eligible for free or reduced priced meals. Other focus areas of the grant included: improving the quality of school foodservice meals to meet dietary guidelines; improving the safety of food served in the school meal programs; improving the overall energy efficiency of the school foodservice operations; and supporting the expansion of participation in the school meal program. To date, the Illinois State Board of Education has transferred funds to or reimbursed SFAs with ARRA funds the Illinois State Board of Education received.... Show more
