| COUNTY OF MONMOUTH | $4,225,800.00 | Grant | Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant Program (EECBG) Monmouth County Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant The County of Monmouth is committed to reducing Green House (GHG) emissions and improving energy efficiency. The county's governing body has recognized the county's unique role in reducing emissions and has affirmed this stance through formal resolutions. The goals of the EECBG are directly aligned with established county policy. The EECBG award is being used to further the county's conservation/emission reduction goals through operational reductions in fossil fuel consumption at county facilities, reduction in energy usage in county-administered traffic signals, the generation of electricity through alternative/renewable means at county facilities, and energy efficiency retrofits to county-owned buildings, based on energy audits. Specifically the projects to be funded include: replacement of boilers and chillers at county facilities with newer, high-efficiency models; replacement of incandescent traffic signals with higher efficiency LED fixtures (an estimated 25% of county-administered traffic signals will be upgraded); installation of photovoltaic cell systems on county buildings; and energy efficiency retrofits to county-owned buildings, which will be identified by state funded energy audits. The projects to be funded through the EECBG will help Monmouth County make progress towards state GHG emission reduction goals. Additionally, these projects will conserve non renewable resources and achieve permanent cost savings for county tax payers....
