Alaska Native Corporations Financials
Alaska Native Corporations have landed billions of dollars in federal contracts without having to compete for them. But over the years, government auditors and congressional investigators have said they enriched outside consultants and contractors while providing only a small benefit to their Alaska native shareholders. ProPublica tracked down annual reports and other financial information for 24 top ANCs to compile this chart, which shows that ANC performance, as measured by revenue growth and dividends paid to shareholders, varies widely.
