Among the many transparency initiatives the White House Office of Management and Budget assigned to federal agencies in a directive issued Dec. 8, 2009 was that agencies create open-government Web sites by Feb. 6, 2010. The OMB directive called for federal agencies to create sites in the format of www.agency.gov/open Correction: Due to a programming error this interactive incorrectly reported posting dates later than the actual posting dates of the open sites at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, Department of Veterans Affairs, Department of the Treasury, Department of the Interior, and the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
