The site consists of 30,740 acres acquired by transfer and lease for use by the War Department. The site is 4 miles south of Willcox, Arizona. All of the improvements were sold and removed from the site in 1953. All of the improvements were sold and removed from the site in 1953. DoD use of the site was exclusive. Subsequent use has been by the Army for electronics testing. Currently, 28,826.9 acres remain under the jurisdiction of the Army, Fort Huachuca, and are not considered eligible under DERP FUDS. The 960 acres of Public Domain land, 640 acres of privately owned land, and 313.1 acres of State owned land were formerly used by DoD. This property is known or suspected to contain military munitions and explosives of concern (e.g., unexploded ordnance) and therefore may present an explosive hazard.
