The site was known as Fort Nathaniel Green Military Reservation The Army made many improvements to the site. At the East Reservation improvements consisted of Battery Hamilton, an underground reservoir and plotting room, 11 temporary buildings, two concrete fire control structures, latrine, water pump station, an SCR-296A fire control radar tower, an associated prefabricated metal operations building, two metal generator buildings and rifle range. At the West Reservation 20 structures were built including fire control station motor repair shop, an ordnance repair shop and ordnance material and supply warehouse, an underground plotting room and Battery 109. Improvements to the South Reservation included Battery 211, three fire control structures, and 15 temporary buildings. In May 1950 the East Reservation was reassigned to the Army Reserve Multiple Drill Training Facility. CENED believes that the site was not under other than DOD ownership. Previous comment by Heather Sullivan 5/25/2010 The West Reservation is presently the site of the Fishermans Memorial Park which is State operated campground The land is owned by RIDEM and operated by the Division of Parks and Recreation. The Town of Narragansett owns two of three parcels on the East Reservation, one containing a fire station, and the second is the location of the towns sewage treatment plant. The third parcel is privately owned by Picerne Properties and is being developed for residential use. The South Reservation originally consisted of 44.86 acres The site was purchased by the City of Providence from GSA The city later sold portion of the property to the State of Rhode Island The State portion of the property is presently owned by RIDEM Division of Fish and Wildlife.
