Project Description
Condolence payment for local national injuries sustained from warning shots fired by coaltion personnel.
Project Goals
On 18 July 2008, coaltion forces were travelling in a convoy when a vehicle approached rapidly from their rear. After employing escalation of force procedures, the vehicle showed no signs of stopping. The CF attempted to fire warning shots underneath the vehicle, but in actuality struck the bottom of the chassis. The rounds struck three individuals inside, causing non-life-threatening injuries. These payments (3 x 1,000) are intended as reparations for these individuals.
