Genus Oncology
Equity Interest - Non-publicly traded entity ( e.g., stock, stock option, or other ownership interest)
The Specific Aims are: (1) To advance ADCs targeting the MUC1-C extracellular domain as clinical candidates for the treatment of TNBC; (2) To further evaluate the MAbs as candidates for the development of ADCCs in breast cancer genetically-engineered mouse models (GEMMs); and (3) To identify effective combinations of the ADCs or ADCCs with PD-1/PD-L1 blockade. These studies involve use of MUC1-C/ED MAbs which are licensed to Genus Oncology.
The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (“DFCI”) has established this Conflict Management Plan based upon its understanding that the research involves use of a technology that is licensed to the Company, and that the proposed work, if successful, could potentially increase the valuation of the Company.
Immunotherapeutic Approaches Targeting the MUC1-C Oncoprotein in Triple-Negative Breast Cancer
Breast cancer is one of the leading causes of death for women. The MUC1 oncogenic protein is aberrantly overexpressed in about 90% of human breast tumors and confers a poor survival outcome for patients. Our proposed research focuses on how to effectively target MUC1 function in breast cancer with the novel immunotherapeutic approaches we have developed for the treatment of this disease.
