Conflict of Interest
Institutions must file significant disclosures to the National Institutes of Health if they determine financial relationships could affect the design, conduct or reporting of the NIH-funded research. The NIH provided us with their entire financial conflict of interest database, with filings from 2012 through 2019.

Square2Systems Inc
Equity Interest - Non-publicly traded entity ( e.g., stock, stock option, or other ownership interest)
Prof. Marsch is Co-Owner of Square2Systems Inc., a company that has developed and licensed a self-regulation monitoring and intervention mobile platform that enables real time assessment of mechanisms of self-regulatory function and health behavior, and self-regulation interventions for a variety of populations. This platform, Square 2®, will be a key resource for the proposed work. It offers science based self-regulation monitoring and behavior change tools to a wide array of populations. This technology will be employed in connection with the research to be performed under this grant, and Square2Systems Inc. is acting as a vendor in connection with this work. The platform Square 2® is available as a sole source only through this vendor.
Given Prof. Marsch’s role as Principal Investigator of this project, her financial interest in Square2Systems Inc. could appear to significantly and directly affect the design, conduct, and reporting of the research.
Scaling up Science-based Mental Health Interventions in Latin America
Through the integration of Core activities, this project will create new knowledge to inform unprecedented, science-based approaches to scaling-up mental health implementation research and building sustainable research capacity and science-based policies and programs in Latin America. If successful, this approach can be expanded over time to embrace other areas of mental health (e.g., severe mental illness), chronic disease management, as well as health promotion prevention interventions based on community needs and priorities in Latin America.

Notes: When a more specific filing date is not available for an individual financial disclosure or conflict of interest form, we use the year the form was filed. If the year was not disclosed, we report the range of years covered by our public records requests. In a few cases, a start date was provided instead of a filing date. In those cases, we use the start date instead.
Fewer than 10% of records from the University of Florida and fewer than 1% of records from the University of Texas system were removed because they did not contain enough information.
ProPublica obtained additional financial disclosures and conflict of interest forms that we have not yet digitized and added to the database. You can download those disclosures in the ProPublica Data Store.
