Microbial Medical
Equity Interest - Non-publicly traded entity ( e.g., stock, stock option, or other ownership interest)
Proposal uses maltodextrin transporter as a way of labeling bacteria in blood, which could be of business interest to Microbial Medical if successful. Microbial Medical is currently focused on imaging bacterial infections in vivo with maltodextrins. Experiments in the proposal are related to the claims of the patents that Microbial Medical has licensed so value of the IP could be enhanced.
18F Conjugated Maltodextrins for the Detection of Medical Device Infections
Medical device infections pose a major health issue resulting in significant cost, mortality and morbidity. Currently, out techniques available for the detection of infected medical devices are very limited. In this proposal, we will develop and test a novel family of imaging probes to detect medical device infections in humans.
