Dr. Sun founded and holds equity in Dura Biotech. The company is commercializing technology that it licensed from the University of Connecticut. Dr. Sun is studying related technologies at GA Tech. The GA Tech COI Committee determined that that Dr. Sun has a Financial Conflict of Interest (FCOI) on this project because he holds equity in a company that is commercializing technologies related to those being studied and Dura could benefit from the technologies being developed in the GA Tech work. Dr. Sun's financial interest in Dura could bias or appear to bias the design, conduct, or reporting of his research.
Biomechanical study on aortic-mitral coupling in transcatheter aortic valve replacement
This research will develop a computational framework to investigate the biomechanics of mitral-aortic coupling and predict the effects of transcatheter aortic valve replacement on mitral regurgitation severity.
