The program project grant seeks to combine gene-mediated cytotoxic immunotherapy (GMCI) with immune checkpoint inhibition in preclinical and planned clinical trials for glioblastoma. Dr. Chiocca is a paid member of Advantagene’s SBA. Advantagene is developing the GMCI platform technology used in the study, which is designed to stimulate a patient's immune system to naturally fight against his or her cancer.
Extracellular Vesicles (EVs) and Genes in the Biology and Therapy of Gliomas
Gene-mediated cytotoxic immunotherapy will be combined with immune checkpoint inhibition in preclinical and planned clinical trials for glioblastoma. Tumor-derived extracellular vesicles will be evaluated for their role in resistance to therapy and as biomarkers to monitor response to therapy.
