Conflict of Interest
Institutions must file significant disclosures to the National Institutes of Health if they determine financial relationships could affect the design, conduct or reporting of the NIH-funded research. The NIH provided us with their entire financial conflict of interest database, with filings from 2012 through 2019.

Waypoint Health Innovations
Equity Interest - Non-publicly traded entity ( e.g., stock, stock option, or other ownership interest)
Dr. John Greist previously held stock in Waypoint Health Innovations (“Waypoint”), which developed the “Thrive” intervention that this research project is evaluating. Waypoint is providing Thrive to Montana State University at no cost for use in the study. Dr. Greist no longer has a direct financial interest in Waypoint, but does retain a small interest in the company through another, Healthcare Technology Systems (“HTS”), where Dr. Greist is CEO and a shareholder. Dr. Greist holds about (b)(4) ownership in HTS, which in turn owns less than (b)(4) of Waypoint. Dr. Greist is also a consultant to Waypoint on projects outside of this grant.
MT INBRE II: A Multidisciplinary Research Network
Rural communities in Montana, particularly Native communities, experience severe health disparities. This proposal will build the capacity of the MT INBRE III statewide research network to address these disparities more effectively in collaboration with rural and tribal communities.
