This research to develop platform screening technology for major cancers is related to the focus of a company in which Vadim Backman has significant financial interests. Backman has equity interests in and receives remuneration in NanoCytomics LLC, a company that is commercializing aspects of Backman’s research related to cancer diagnostics. Because of the outcome of this research could financially benefit NanoCytomics LLC, a potential conflict of interest exists that requires management.

Existing screening techniques do not allow accurate and cost-effective screening of major cancers. This proposal aims to develop a simple and minimally invasive platform screening technology for major cancers without the need for expensive and risky procedures. Our initial test case will be lung cancer screening.
