This database was last updated in December 2019 and should only be used as a historical snapshot. There may be new or amended records not reflected here.
Conflict of Interest
Institutions must file significant disclosures to the National Institutes of Health if they determine financial relationships could affect the design, conduct or reporting of the NIH-funded research. The NIH provided us with their entire financial conflict of interest database, with filings from 2012 through 2019.

ETERLY
Other : Provide advice on issues related to calorie restriction and endocrinology of aging for the company,ETERLY
ETERLY is a company developing plans to use health and fitness data sets to develop novel biomarkers of aging and provide personalized fitness & dietary advice related to longevity in a commercial app created by longevity experts. Dr. Bartke will receive (b)(4) of shares for his contributions. Bartke's aging research with NIH could be beneficial to the company and a management plan is needed for this conflict of interest.
Dr. Hascup's grant purpose is to examine the influence of cellular senescence & inflammation on hippocampal extracellular glutamate & cognition in mice, as it relates to Alzheimer's disease. Experiments have potential to lead to preventative interventions through identification of novel therapeutic targets with the potential to improve patient outcome.
Cellular senescence, inflammation and neurotransmission in Alzheimer's disease
Project Narrative In the proposed studies, we will examine the influence of cellular senescence and inflammation on hippocampal extracellular glutamate and cognition in APPNL-F/NL-F and APP/PS1 mice, as it relates to Alzheimer?s disease. We hypothesize that reducing the burden of senescent cells and shifting the profile of adipokines and cytokines from pro- to anti-inflammatory will restore glutamate neurotransmission and thereby slow or prevent AD-related cognitive decline. These experiments have the potential to improve scientific knowledge and lead to preventative interventions through identification of novel therapeutic targets with the potential to improve patient outcome.

Notes: When a more specific filing date is not available for an individual financial disclosure or conflict of interest form, we use the year the form was filed. If the year was not disclosed, we report the range of years covered by our public records requests. In a few cases, a start date was provided instead of a filing date. In those cases, we use the start date instead.
Fewer than 10% of records from the University of Florida and fewer than 1% of records from the University of Texas system were removed because they did not contain enough information.
ProPublica obtained additional financial disclosures and conflict of interest forms that we have not yet digitized and added to the database. You can download those disclosures in the ProPublica Data Store.
