Development of a New ALS Mouse Model that Targets Profilin1 and Actin Filaments
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a devastating lethal disease for which there is no treatment. We have engineered and have begun to characterize a new mouse model of ALS that will facilitate investigation of yet unknown mechanisms that cause ALS. Importantly, when fully characterized, the mice we have developed will provide a new model for testing potential therapies for use in individuals with ALS.
