C.Light Technologies is interested in commercializing TSLO technology, the same technology that is being used in this research proposal.
From cone classes to ganglion cell types to color perception in peripheral vision
The development of the eTSLO instrument will enable repeated and reliable stimulation of individual retinal photoreceptors for clinical and basic research studies of visual function. Retinal degeneration includes a diverse class of diseases (e.g., ciliopathies, achromatopsia, and retinal dystrophy) that impact about 1 in 3000 persons, and most cases involve a progressive loss of photoreceptors and concomitant visual impairments. The proposed research will enable a deeper understanding of retinal organization and provide us with the ability to track disease progression at the critical locations and treatmen outcomes, which can be important for both fundamental research and clinical patient care.
