EFIRM-Liquid Biopsy (eLB): Ultrasensitive ctDNA and miRNA Detection for Early Assessment of Lung Cancer
Relevance to Public Health Statement This application proposes to apply a sensitive assay for blood-based lung cancer-associated molecular markers, EFIRM Liquid Biopsy (eLB), into the clinical management of patients with indeterminate lung nodules. Our platform will combine two distinct types of molecular biomarkers of lung cancer; when combined into a single assay, we anticipate that this technology will efficiently, accurately, and inexpensively distinguish between patients with benign or malignant nodules detected on computed tomography. Our goal is to advance this technology to clibical practice at the point of care.
