A Novel Strategy Targeting TfR1 for the Prevention/Treatment of AIDS-related NHL
We have developed two antibodies, ch128.1 and ch128.1Av that have shown promising results as a potential treatment for blood cancers; importantly, ch128.1Av can be loaded with other anti-cancer agents that can act as 'warheads' to increase its anti-cancer efficacy. The main goals of the present proposal are to understand how ch128.1Av and ch128.1, alone or in combination with other drugs, can be used to prevent and/or treat AIDS-associated lymphoma, as well as how these antibodies can be used to fight the growth of these devastating cancers. It is expected that our multifaceted strategy will contribute to a reduction of the human and economic cost caused by these AIDS-associated cancers and potentially other malignancies.
