Conflict of Interest
Institutions must file significant disclosures to the National Institutes of Health if they determine financial relationships could affect the design, conduct or reporting of the NIH-funded research. Role of HSP70 in Pancreatic Diseases
Narrative We have previously shown that HSP-70, a chaperone protein, protects pancreatic acinar cells from damage during acute pancreatitis. We have extended these observations to demonstrate that HSP70 is overexpressed in pancreatic cancer cells and plays a very prominent role in protecting cancer cells from cell death. While previous research focused primarily on the properties of the cancer cell, there has recently been increased understanding of the role of the tumor microenvironment (TME) in supporting cancer growth. Current grant is focused on understanding the role of HSP70 in TME on Pancreatic cancer progression.

Notes: When a more specific filing date is not available for an individual financial disclosure or conflict of interest form, we use the year the form was filed. If the year was not disclosed, we report the range of years covered by our public records requests. In a few cases, a start date was provided instead of a filing date. In those cases, we use the start date instead.
