Dr. McGrath is also the PI on a NIH awards that uses the silicon membrane technology. Because of the overlapping aims, it has been determined that Dr. McGrath’s financial interest in SiMPore could directly and significantly affect the design, conduct and reporting of the award referenced above.

Listed Research Project
Solid-State Nanopores integrated with Nanoporous Membranes for enhanced Single-Molecule Counting of low-abundance Biomarkers

Narrative The speed and sensitivity of solid-state nanopores make them ideal candidates for the detection of low abundance biomarkers, however they currently operate below their potential due to low event rate and pore clogging issues. This project introduces novel technology that addresses both of these issues. The goal of the project is to demonstrate the use of the new technology to detect fM concentrations of biomarker in 10 ul of blood plasma in under 10 minutes.

Notes: When a more specific filing date is not available for an individual financial disclosure or conflict of interest form, we use the year the form was filed. If the year was not disclosed, we report the range of years covered by our public records requests. In a few cases, a start date was provided instead of a filing date. In those cases, we use the start date instead.

Fewer than 10% of records from the University of Florida and fewer than 1% of records from the University of Texas system were removed because they did not contain enough information.

ProPublica obtained additional financial disclosures and conflict of interest forms that we have not yet digitized and added to the database. You can download those disclosures in the ProPublica Data Store.
