Financial Disclosure
The University of Texas System provided all data on outside professional activity of faculty and staff from all campuses from 2016 to 2019. All university employees are required to disclose outside work or activities, which are reviewed for potential conflicts of interest and conflicts of commitment.

Texas Beef Council
As a sponsored athlete through the Texas Beef Council, the organization will pay for partial reimbursement for my race registration fees. In exchange, I wear a Texas Beef Council jersey during the race, and participate in at least one volunteer activity for the organization per year.
Any time dedicated to this activity will occur on weekends or holidays. Races are typically early morning on saturday or sunday and do not last for more than 3-4 hours. I will participate in no more than 4 events (one as a volunteer, 3 as an athlete) in association with this organization annually. Since my research often involves dietary manipulations in the laboratory, I felt it prudent to disclose my involvement with the non-profit organization Texas Beef Council, since their charge is to promote and market beef and beef products.

Tell us what you know about Katherine Serafine's disclosure
We're still reporting about conflicts of interest. Is there something you'd like to tell us about this disclosure?
Notes: When a more specific filing date is not available for an individual financial disclosure or conflict of interest form, we use the year the form was filed. If the year was not disclosed, we report the range of years covered by our public records requests. In a few cases, a start date was provided instead of a filing date. In those cases, we use the start date instead.
Fewer than 10% of records from the University of Florida and fewer than 1% of records from the University of Texas system were removed because they did not contain enough information.
ProPublica obtained additional financial disclosures and conflict of interest forms that we have not yet digitized and added to the database. You can download those disclosures in the ProPublica Data Store.
