Financial Disclosure
The University of Texas System provided all data on outside professional activity of faculty and staff from all campuses from 2016 to 2019. All university employees are required to disclose outside work or activities, which are reviewed for potential conflicts of interest and conflicts of commitment.

Fish Architects PLLC
This is a "disregarded entity" essentially it is a sole proprietor/self employment business by which commissions for architectural services and artistic works commissions are collected. I am in supervisory control of all professional work. The professional work performed thru this entity is considered an integral part of my academic portfolio a professional appointed in a professional program.
During appointment periods time commitments for this entity are tightly limited and while supervisory control is maintained in a manner that meets professional requirements and standards, most day to day business is delegated to others. In between appointment periods, an increase in estimated number of number of hours (from that described above) would be expected but also varies widely depending on need. Compensation can vary widely from year to year depending on the specific nature of the commission and scopes of work therein. There in not a good corollary between compensation and time commitment. Professional practice in ones area of expertise should not reasonably appear to create a conflict of interest unless those services are being used by the UT System. My practice does not pursue architectural projects in higher education, nor any kind of work associated with the UT system. As a sole practitioner, with a staff largely managed by others, the time commitment required to maintain highest professional standards is minimal. During appointment periods my time is limited to less than one full day per week or two partial days per week (often on weekends) and does not interfere with my commitment to the University.

Notes: When a more specific filing date is not available for an individual financial disclosure or conflict of interest form, we use the year the form was filed. If the year was not disclosed, we report the range of years covered by our public records requests. In a few cases, a start date was provided instead of a filing date. In those cases, we use the start date instead.
