Providing advice on the development of new strategies to deplete proteins from cells by shuttling them to the Ubiquitin-Proteasome-System.
We are currently negotiating the last details of the consulting contract. The consulting contract has not started yet and I have not yet received compensation. I have filled the FID form. A conflict management plan will be developed. My research is to understand how the ubiquitin proteasome system recognizes proteins for degradation. We have also filed a patent application that describes novel technology induce protein degradation artificially. The main interest of the company I am consulting for is to develop technology to induce the degradation of proteins in cells artificially. I could appear that I: - withhold information to help the company; - exaggerate the value of information we obtain in our research; - exaggerate the success of the technology we develop to help the company or to increase the value of the technology to the company. Yes, by spending time consulting for the company it could appear that I am neglecting my university duties. However, I estimate that the amount of time spent consulting will be minimal (~2hrs per week).

Notes: When a more specific filing date is not available for an individual financial disclosure or conflict of interest form, we use the year the form was filed. If the year was not disclosed, we report the range of years covered by our public records requests. In a few cases, a start date was provided instead of a filing date. In those cases, we use the start date instead.
