Dr. McPherson holds equity in Zymo Pharmaceuticals, LLC. The company is a private, for-profit company whose business focuses on the development of echogenic liposomes (ELIP) to be a platform for both diagnostic and therapeutic applications. This research project utilizes the ELIP technology in several novel treatment strategies to try and inhibit or slow the progression of atherosclerosis. The research involves the related technology.

PROJECT NARRATIVE This proposal seeks to develop a carrier (echogenic immunoliposomes) with novel ultrasound delivery methodologies that have the ability to incorporate therapeutics and enhance delivery to stabilize atherosclerotic beds at the time of intervention.
