Greenpower USA Foundation

Listed Reason

GPUSA is requesting my service as a board member in an advisory position; NO Voting Capability. UTRGV is partnering with GPUSA as we direct Texas's first ever GPUSA competition. Some officers and members on the board are closely associated with GPUSA in some respect due to the skills they provide for educational projects. This supports GPUSA's and our Office of Community Relation’s goals of advancing education in the subjects of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. GPUSA values higher education. No member on the board is in the field of higher education. In addition to building my professional leadership experiences, service will allow for us at UTRGV to gain the best knowledge on the GPUSA competitions. As a university employee, the board acknowledges that I will abstain on any voting that may pose a conflict of interest with UTRGV. Also, I will use personal leave for any meeting performed during working hours if approved by my supervisor.

Additional Comments

I have not served on the board yet and will wait on approval. No compensation will be received. We are working on a GPUSA project at UTRGV. Their request is more of serving as an advisor; not a voting member. I will be sitting in on member meetings and not be able to vote on any item that may pose a conflict of interest with my work at UTRGV. However, meeting are generally on a quarterly basis and I will take my own personal leave if any meeting is done during my working hours.

Notes: When a more specific filing date is not available for an individual financial disclosure or conflict of interest form, we use the year the form was filed. If the year was not disclosed, we report the range of years covered by our public records requests. In a few cases, a start date was provided instead of a filing date. In those cases, we use the start date instead.

Fewer than 10% of records from the University of Florida and fewer than 1% of records from the University of Texas system were removed because they did not contain enough information.

ProPublica obtained additional financial disclosures and conflict of interest forms that we have not yet digitized and added to the database. You can download those disclosures in the ProPublica Data Store.
