I am proposing to conduct a usability study for my Master Thesis as a requirement for my MPH degree using Quit4Health, an app developed here at MD Anderson Cancer Center. The main objective is to analyze the acceptability and usability of Quit4Health among young adult smokers. This will involve a focus group conducted at the Houston Community College Coleman campus with 8 participants who would play with the app for 15-20 min. and then take the user version of the Mobile Application Rating Scale (uMARS). After completing the survey, participants would then have 15-20 min to share their experiences. A qualitative and quantitative analysis will then be conducted. The personal time commitment that I will be devoting to the study will be around 20 hours a week and should not interfere in any way with the 20 work hours a week that I commit to MD Anderson. I expect the project and the time commitment to last around 6-7 months starting in the summer of 2018 and ending in December of 2018.

Notes: When a more specific filing date is not available for an individual financial disclosure or conflict of interest form, we use the year the form was filed. If the year was not disclosed, we report the range of years covered by our public records requests. In a few cases, a start date was provided instead of a filing date. In those cases, we use the start date instead.
Fewer than 10% of records from the University of Florida and fewer than 1% of records from the University of Texas system were removed because they did not contain enough information.
