Conflict of Interest
Institutions must file significant disclosures to the National Institutes of Health if they determine financial relationships could affect the design, conduct or reporting of the NIH-funded research. The NIH provided us with their entire financial conflict of interest database, with filings from 2012 through 2019.

Radiologics
Equity Interest - Non-publicly traded entity ( e.g., stock, stock option, or other ownership interest)
Based on Washington University’s Research COI Policy and the Procedures for Determining and Managing Research Financial Conflicts of Interests, Washington University determined Dr. Marcus’ personal financial relationship with Radiologics, Inc., related to the above referenced research creates a financial conflict of interest due to the following reasons:
• Dr. Marcus’ personal financial relationships are directly related to the subject of the research because the study is developing and enhancing the open-source X-NAT software. Dr. Marcus is using the software to provide services to consumers and firms through Radiologics. The main principal commercial activity of the company consists of customizing the open-source version of X-NAT and validating it for compliance with FDA regulations at 21 CFR Part 11.
• The results of the study could influence how X-NAT is perceived by consumers, and therefore could affect the value of the services provided by Radiologics.
• Dr. Marcus’ role as principal developer of the X-NAT technology, as well as his roles in design of the study; collecting, analyzing, and reviewing the data; reporting the results; oversight of the research and supervising individuals involved with the research, could directly affect the study.
THE XNAT IMAGING INFORMATICS PLATFORM
RELEVANCE Medical imaging is one of the key methods used by biomedical researchers to study human biology in health and disease. The imaging informatics platform described in this application will enable biomedical researchers to capture, analyze, and share imaging and related data. These capabilities address key bottlenecks in the pathway to discovering cures to complex diseases such as Alzheimer's disease, cancer, and heart disease.

Notes: When a more specific filing date is not available for an individual financial disclosure or conflict of interest form, we use the year the form was filed. If the year was not disclosed, we report the range of years covered by our public records requests. In a few cases, a start date was provided instead of a filing date. In those cases, we use the start date instead.
Fewer than 10% of records from the University of Florida and fewer than 1% of records from the University of Texas system were removed because they did not contain enough information.
