North Carolinians are already going to the polls, and you can help.

Folks in our state started voting yesterday, and it's a unique opportunity for us all to make a big difference for President Obama and other Democrats, right out of the gate.

In 2008, over 60 percent of the votes in North Carolina were cast before Election Day. President Obama narrowly won the state by only 14,000 votes out of 4.3 million cast -- which means critical early votes likely made the difference.

Barack won North Carolina in 2008 because of all the volunteers and supporters like you who worked hard to get him elected.

Early voting played an absolutely crucial role: More than 60 percent of North Carolinians voted early, and that enthusiasm put Barack over the top -- by a very small margin.

Early voting just makes sense, too. If you have a family, or commitments with work or school, it's much easier to make a plan to vote early.
