I hope you haven't nailed down your plans for September 6th yet. It's the night that President Obama will accept the nomination at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina -- and, for our movement, it's a chance to get together across the country to hear his acceptance speech and get energized for the final stretch. Folks in every state are going to be hosting watch parties and spending the evening with some friends and neighbors.

Will you host a watch party on September 6th to give folks in Washington a place to watch the President together?

[url] I can't wait for this year's convention, and I know from talking with our field organizers and volunteers that I'm not alone.

I bet you're already planning ahead to watch the speech. Whether you invite just a few friends or open your home to some new folks from your neighborhood, hosting one of these parties is a great way to make an impact for the campaign at the same time.

it's an opportunity to see some rising stars in the Democratic Party, and connect about what direction we want our country to go. Hosting a watch party will help your neighbors come together and be a part of that conversation. When folks who are a part of this movement meet up and talk, we come up with the best ideas to get people organized and engaged in the political process -- and we get energized to make it happen. Plus, events like these are one of our best ways to bring new people into this organization, and encourage those who are already involved to step up even more. When the convention is over, we'll have two short months until the last vote is cast -- so the party you throw is going to play an important part in growing our get-out-the-vote efforts in Washington at a critical time. Don't be shy about stepping up to host. I promise it'll be easy, and we'll equip you with a set of host materials and a training, as well as some ways to connect with other hosts to swap tips and ideas as you prepare. This is going to be a big night for us all. No one should be on the sidelines. So make sure folks in Washington have a place to connect for the convention on September 6th and hear President Obama's acceptance speech. Plan to host a watch party: [url]
