Getting a year older brings into focus how lucky I am -- another year with Michelle watching the girls grow up, having the opportunity to make the world they live in a better place.
That job isn't always easy, as you may be able to tell from my increasingly gray hair. But when the days are most difficult, people like you remind me that I'm not in this alone.
I don't get to tell you enough, but I'm so grateful for that. We're getting some friends together in Chicago to celebrate before we head into the final weeks of this election. The occasion might be my 51st birthday, but I'd love to get the chance to make a toast to you.
