I'm voting for President Obama, and, as a fellow friend of the environment, I hope you'll join me.

But this year, that alone won't be enough: If we want four more years of a president dedicated to protecting the air we breathe and the water we drink, and who is committed to addressing climate change, we have to do more than vote.

This election is too close -- and there's far too much at stake for the environment. We've only got three more days to make sure our friends and neighbors get to the polls, too, so let's make them count.

Sign up to knock on doors, make calls, and get out the vote for President Obama:

I've been fighting for the environment for more than 40 years, and I've never lived through an election so critical to its fate -- not just for the next four years, but for the next 40.

President Obama has made historic investments in clean energy, helping more than double the amount of electricity we generate from wind and solar, and he has set a goal of generating 80 percent of America's electricity from clean sources by 2035.

Compare that with the other side. Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan want to gut those critical investments, including the Wind Production Tax Credit at the cost of 37,000 American jobs.

That's not the kind of future I want for this beautiful country of ours. We need four more years of a president who not only believes in climate change, but will fight to do something about it -- not one who will just hand over the keys of the White House to Big Oil.

We need four more years of President Obama, not just for ourselves, but for our kids, and our kids' kids, too. And we have three more days to make it happen.
