Patient Pathways Through This ER

After a patient arrives at the emergency room, they are typically seen by a doctor and then either sent home or admitted to the hospital and taken to a room. A small percentage of patients leave without being seen at all. The chart below shows on average how long each of these pathways take. Lower numbers are better, and all times refer to the average length of time people waited. Find out more »

Detailed Quality Measures

Here is a more in depth look at each quality measure, compared to state and national averages for hospitals with very high volumes. Experts caution that very small differences between hospitals for a given measure are unlikely to correspond to noticeable differences in the real world.

Notes: "Average time" refers to the median waiting time (the midpoint of all patients' waiting times). References to "doctor" indicate a doctor, nurse practitioner or physician assistant. CMS reports the CT scan quality measure as the percentage of patients who received a scan within 45 minutes. We have reversed that measure so that all measures follow a "lower is better" pattern.

I was referred by my dr. Office. Upon my arrival, i was told to have a seat (no questions as to why i was there). Finally was asked why i was there. I explained that i was told to come there as i had had xrays and had Dr. Results with me. No one wanted to even see them. Finally was seen by "in take" asked why i was there. Took vitals then back for more waiting. Finally called back asked why i was there. I explained my symptoms. Another very nice lady with computer took my personal contact info., nurse came in put in IV took blood. PA MANDI BINGHAM came in to ask me about my visit and symptoms then ordered CT scan and explained what would happen etc. Test only takes 10 minutes. Came back to the room to be with my husband and wait for results. 25 minutes later PA MANDI BINGHAM came back to inform me nothing serious and nothing really can be done. I expressed my frustration with not being able to relieve my pain. I told her i was not seeking drugs or surgery etc., but im still in a lot of pain. PA MANDI stated that she wasn't sure what i was looking for all they can do is (a b & c). She seemed to become agitated at my frustration and then went on to state numerous medical terms that i didnt have and when my husband stated that wasn't helping by throwing out different medical terms that we never knew nor understood. She grew more agressive and said "im trying to Help You!). Well needless to say i was very unhappy with her treatment of me. I think that because so many people use ER's as a Dr. Office that "professionals" like PA MANDI BINGHAM need to realize that her unprofessional treatment hurt the medical profession. I have medical and i am also employed. Just because your "paitent" doesn't agree with their treatment plan or lack there of doesn't mean they need to be treated with hostility.

Currently still waiting to be seen. Been waiting over 4 hours now having to see while they take sprained ankles and twisted knees to "fast track" while my wife and I wait for her internal pain. This hospital is truly a joke.
