Launched in October 2010 by three former aides to Mitt Romney: Carl Forti, the political director of Romney's 2008 presidential campaign and a well-known Republican strategist who also serves as political director for the super PAC American Crossroads; Charles Spies, the legal counsel to Romney's 2008 campaign; and Larry McCarthy, a member of Romney's media team in 2008. The group's fundraiser led the Romney campaign finance team until last summer.
