In Vermont, less than 20% of hospital-affiliated doctors take payments, the lowest in the country.
In Minnesota, just over 30% of hospital-affiliated doctors take payments, the second lowest rate in the country.
Five of the six states with the highest rates of hospital-affiliated doctors taking payments are in the South: Louisiana, Mississippi, Florida, South Carolina and Alabama — all above 76%.
