Based on interview and record review, the hospital failed to ensure that Patient 1's medical information was kept confidential from anyone not authorized accessed.Findings:An interview with the hospital's compliance manager (CM) was conducted on 1/9/13 at 9:25 A.M. The CM stated that a medical assistant mistakenly printed two copies of Patient 1's "Visit Summary" and gave the 2nd copy to Patient 2. Patient 1's "Visit Summary" report indicated the patient's name, visit date, diagnoses, medications, and laboratory tests.
