Issue:

A patient had a surgery this morning and sent his mother in to the Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) to pick up pain medication. Patient stayed in the car. The nurse explained to Patients mother that partial prescription was dispensed at Primary Care Provider (PCP) request due to Patient's previous disclosure of daily marijuana use. We are uncertain if mother was already aware of patients drug use. Mother does not appear to be listed in patients chart as next of kin/POA.

Outcome:

10/09/14: The Incident Resolution Service Team has determined that the Veteran will be sent a notification letter.
