A VA employee accessed a family member's electronic medical record. The Veteran/family member reported to Privacy that the VA employee was using this information and interrupting his personal life and his care
Outcome:
06/07/13: A sensitive patient access report was run and the employee did admit to the unauthorized access. The patient will be sent a HIPAA notification letter.
