Issue:

A pathology resident reported to her supervisor today that she took the pathology report of five Veterans home with her to prepare for a medical presentation she was going to present today. The documents were in a bag that she left in her car. She discovered her car had been broken into and the bag removed. She reported the incident to the local police was advised to also report the incident to the VA police. The resident was not given permission to remove the documents from the medical center. Update: 03/21/12:Five (5) Veterans will be sent letters offering credit protection services.

Outcome:

Resident no longer allowed to train at the MEDVA MC.
