Issue:
VHA Veteran/employee requested copy of Sensitive Patient Access Report (SPAR). From the list, the employee identified a VBA employee as having accessed his medical records. Veteran/employee states information obtained from medical records was used in court proceedings.
Outcome:
10/28/13: A Veteran emailed the Privacy Officer stating that they had become friends with a VBA employee when seperating from the Army. The VBA employee became harassing and the Veteran tried to keep their distance. The Veteran had a sensative patient access report run on their records and discovered that the employee accessed their record in Capri. The Veteran will be sent a letter offering credit protection services.
