Based on interview and record review, the facility failed to ensure that Patient 1's medical record was kept confidential from anyone not authorized access.Findings:An interview with the hospital's Patient Relations (PR) was conducted on 3/15/12 at 12:10 P.M. The PR stated that an emergency department (ED) nurse, inadvertently gave Patient 1's ED Discharge Medication List to the wrong patient. The other patient returned Patient 1's medication list. Both patients were given the correct medication lists. The ED Discharge Medication List indicated Patient 1's name, date of birth, medical record number, and medication.
