Issue:

Based on interview and record review, the hospital failed to provide confidential medical treatment for one of one sampled patient (2). Findings:Patient 2 received outpatient rehabilitation treatments at the hospital.On 9/4/13 at 2:15 p.m. during an interview with the outpatient rehabilitation supervisor, she stated Patient 2 had informed her his bills were being sent to his father. After an internal investigation it was discovered Patient 2 was a minor during his initial hospital registration and his father was registered as the responsible party. After subsequent visits by Patient 2, the hospital registration system was not updated to reflect Patient 2 was no longer a minor and therefore responsible for his own bills.On the above day and time a review of Patient 2's bills indicated the information disclosed to his father included Patient 2's name, account number, and treatment plan.
