IN PARTICULAR FOR SUBGRANT RECIPIENTS, A SERIES OF INTERNAL CONTROLS HAVE BEEN ESTABLISHED WHICH INCLUDE DETERMINATION OF WHETHER AN AUDIT WILL BE REQUIRED. DUKE UNIVERSITY HAS ESTABLISHED A DETAILED AND COMPETITIVE APPLICATION PROCESS WHICH ENSURES PROPER PURPOSE AND USE OF THESE GRANT FUNDS PRIOR TO ENGAGEMENT.
