ELIGIBLE NON-CITIZENS ARE DEFINED AS THOSE LIVING IN THE U.S. FOR "OTHER THAN A TEMPORARY PURPOSE"; THEY CAN POSSESS A VARIETY OF DOCUMENTS WHICH DEMONSTRATES THAT STATUS, INCLUDING I-551S AND I-94S WITH CERTAIN STAMPS. APPLICANTS WHO FILE A FREE APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL STUDENT AID (FAFSA) HAVE THEIR FAFSA DATA MATCHED WITH DATA IN SEVERAL FEDERAL DATABASES, INCLUDING THE SOCIAL SECURITY ADMINISTRATION AND THE DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY.
