SCHEDULE I, PAGE 1, PART I, LINE 2 GRANT FUNDS ARE AWARDED ANNUALLY THROUGH AN APPLICATION PROCESS APPROVED BY THE FEDERAL AWARDING AGENCIES, NATIONAL SCIENCE FOUNDATION (NSF) AND NATIONAL CENTER FOR EDUCATION STATISTICS (NCES). APPLICATIONS ARE REVIEWED BY A PANEL OF INSTITUTIONAL RESEARCH PROFESSIONALS, WHICH SELECT THE GRANT RECIPIENTS BASED ON AN AGREED SCORING RUBRIC. THE SELECTED RECIPIENTS ARE THEN APPROVED BY NSF BEFORE AIR AWARDS THE GRANT MONEY. AWARDS ARE PAID IN TWO INSTALLMENTS. FIRST INSTALLMENT IS AWARDED ONCE THE AWARDEE SUBMITS (1) A BUDGET OUTLINING HOW THE FUNDS WILL BE SPENT, (2) A COMPLETED NSF ASSURANCE OF COMPLIANCE FORM, (3) A SIGNED A-133 AUDIT LETTER AND, (4) A SIGNED LETTER OF AGREEMENT. BEFORE THE FINAL INSTALLMENT IS RELEASED, THE RECIPIENT MUST SUBMIT A MID-YEAR PROGRESS REPORT ADDRESSING THE FOLLOWING (1) SUMMARY ON THE PROGRESS OF THE RESEARCH AND (2) ANY MAJOR (MORE THAN 10% OF THE TOTAL BUDGET) CHANGES IN HOW THE AWARD FUNDING WILL BE SPENT. THE GRANT RECIPIENTS MUST PRESENT THEIR RESEARCH FINDINGS AT THE AIR ANNUAL CONFERENCE TO INSTITUTIONAL RESEARCH PROFESSIONALS. FINAL MATERIALS ARE REQUIRED 60 DAYS FOLLOWING THE GRANT CYCLE, MATERIALS INCLUDE (1) A FINAL REPORT OF SCHOLARLY QUALITY, (2) A 1-2 PAGE EXECUTIVE SUMMARY OUTLINING RESEARCH FINDINGS, (3) A STATEMENT (SIGNED BY THE FINANCIAL REPRESENTATIVE) INDICATING THAT ALL GRANT FUNDS HAVE BEEN SPENT AND (4) A FINAL BUDGET. A FINAL REVIEW OF THE ENTIRE PROGRAM IS PERFORMED BY TWO REVIEWERS TO ENSURE ALL DELIVERABLES WERE MEET AND APPLICANT SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED THEIR GRANT. THE FINAL REPORT IS UPLOADED TO AIR WEBSITE WHEN AVAILABLE.
