Return Reference Explanation
PART I, LINE 2 POVERTY IS A COMPLICATED ISSUE AND WITH IT COMES A RELENTLESS AMOUNT OF COMPOUNDING STRESSES KEEPING MANY FROM EVEN SEEING A WAY OF ESCAPE. ANY ISSUES OF HOW TO PAY FOR FOOD, APARTMENT RENT, OR HOSPITAL BILLS CAN PUT A PERSON UNDER SEVERE EMOTIONAL, PHYSICAL, OR SPIRITUAL STRESS. MANY PEOPLE CARRY THE LOAD ON THEIR OWN, WITHOUT FAMILY MEMBERS OR FRIENDS NEARBY TO WHOM THEY CAN TURN DURING TIMES OF NEED. WHEN PEOPLE'S BASIC NEEDS GO UNMET, IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR THEM TO SOLVE OTHER, MORE COMPLICATED PROBLEM AREAS IN LIFE. THE INABILITY TO MEET BASIC NEEDS AND ADDED STRESS MAKES A PERSON VULNERABLE FOR MANY RISKY BEHAVIORS AND LONG-TERM NEGATIVE OUTCOMES. ANY ORGANIZATION THAT TACKLES POVERTY MUST ADDRESS THE ISSUES THAT INITIALLY PUT PEOPLE IN CRISIS, BUT IT MUST ALSO POINT PEOPLE TOWARD A LASTING SOLUTION AND GIVE THEM SOLID FIRST STEPS TO ACHIEVE IT. BY ADDRESSING THE MANY FACETS OF HOW POVERTY AFFECTS PEOPLE IN THE COMMUNITY, CCA HELPS FAMILIES TO REGAIN A SENSE OF STABILITY IN THE MIDST OF HARDSHIP. BY HELPING A FAMILY KEEP HEALTHY FOOD ON THEIR TABLE OR PAY THEIR MONTHLY BILLS, WE SHARE THEIR BURDENS AND WALK ALONGSIDE THEM THROUGH THEIR DIFFICULT CIRCUMSTANCES TO STRONGER, BETTER DAYS AHEAD.
