AS PART OF ITS MISSION, THE COALITION'S OTHER PROGRAMS INCLUDE HALF-WAY BACK PROGRAM THAT PROVIDES SUPERVISION AND STABILIZATION TO PROBATIONERS AND PAROLEES IN VIOLATION STATUS THROUGH STABLE RESIDENCE, EMPLOYMENT OR VOCATION TRAINING AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE STABILIZATION. THEY ALSO PROVIDE SINGLE ROOM OCCUPANCY PROGRAM THAT PROVIDES INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES IN DC WITH PLACES TO LIVE WHILE THESE RESIDENTS REMAIN SOBER AND CONTINUE THEIR RECOVERY FROM SUBSTANCE ABUSE. THE ULTIMATE GOAL OF THE PROGRAM IS TO PLACE THESE RESIDENTS INTO PERMANENT HOUSING. COALITION CONTINUES TO WORK WITH THE UNEMPLOYED HOMELESS INDIVIDUALS AND HEADS-OF HOUSEHOLDS THROUGH ITS EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING SERVICES PROGRAM TO PROVIDE PARTICIPANTS WITH THE JOB READINESS SKILL THEY NEED FOR GAINFUL EMPLOYMENT. THE COALITION OPERATES REHABILITATION/TRANSITIONAL CENTERS THAT OFFER SERVICES INTENDED TO PROVIDE TRANSITIONAL HOUSING TO UNEMPLOYED HOMELESS MEN ADDICTED TO ALCHOL AND/OR DRUGS, EXPERIENCING CHRONIC POVERTY OR HINDERED BY FAMILY CHALLENGES. SEVICES INCLUDE SUBSTANCE ABUSE TREATMENT, EMPLOYMENT, AND HOUSING PLACEMENT ASSITANCE. THE EMPLOYMENT SERVICES CENTER PROVIDES EMPLOYMENT ASSISTANCE TO HOMELESS SINGLE RESIDENTS AND HEADS OF HOUSEHOLDS. SERVICES INCLUDE JOB-READINESS SEMINARS AND WORKSHOPS (RESUME PREPARATION, INTERVIEWING TECHNIQUES, AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS), LIFE SKILLS SEMINARS (TIME MANAGEMENT AND BUDGETING), JOB SEARCH AND PLACEMENT ASSISTANCE, TRAINING REFERRALS, COMPUTER-ASSISTED LEARNING AND BASIC EDUCATION TESTING. |
